Today there is an old man in a robe laying out on the lawn of the complex. He looks a little dazed and confused. Probably because he just landed there. A short ways from his head is his hat, proclaiming "Wizzard" in sequins, some of which have fallen off.
There's also what appears to be a chest of some sorts sitting nearby. Of course, normal chests don't have feet, but who said it was normal?
The old man reaches his hand vaguely along the ground towards the hat until his fingers locate it. Even stunned as he is, he makes sure he didn't lose it.

Her question came off a little more blunt than she had meant it to, but she'd rather get right to the point and not risk any more catastrophe.

"Rincewind. My name is Rincewind." he replies. "Don't suppose you could tell me where I've landed?"

"What an odd choice for a travel companion..."
She says this more to herself in thought, rather than directed at anyone in particular as she pulls out a small book and begins scribbling something down.

He eyes the chest for a moment, just to make sure it's not doing anything unusual, but it seems it's just standing there looking at things. Or giving the impression it is anyway.
"That's my luggage. It follows me everywhere. Bit like a big dog really. One that's made of wood and has lots of feet and always knows where I am."

"To be honest I'm not even sure if this place has a name, and I assure you, it isn't like anywhere you've ever seen."

He watches he write for a moment.
"Is this place very exciting?"
He hopes she says no.

"After two hundred years or so not much excites me anymore, though this place can be rather interesting to say the least, at least from what I can tell...."

Date: 2012-07-05 08:03 am (UTC)He ignores the mage for a moment in favor of the chest. "What a curious object. I've never seen the like before." He turns to smile at Rincewind. "You, sir. What is this chest?"

Date: 2012-07-05 08:10 am (UTC)He gives the chest a sour look.
"My luggage. Wouldn't get too close if I were you."
It's fair warning. It's a vicious little thing. He's seen it eat people. Just swallows them up. Sometimes it spits 'em back out later. Sometimes it doesn't. Usualy they aren't in the best of condition though.
He looks again at the stranger.
"Can you tell me where I am? I haven't got a clue, myself."
